A volunteer department, since 1933

The Wayne Township–Duncan Falls Volunteer Fire Department has answered the call for Wayne Township, Muskingum County, Ohio for more than 93 years — established in 1933. It is, and has always been, 100% volunteer: there is no paid staff. The firefighters who respond are neighbors who live and work in the same community they protect.

The standard this department holds itself to is simple and absolute: when the tones go off, the call gets answered. In its history a truck has always rolled out the door, or a member has always shown up — one hundred percent of the time.
